Wedding Centerpieces: Charming and Clever

A Nova Bossa Design is back, I apologize for the long wait.
Newlywed duties and a new job got on the way, but things are getting back to a routine!
I am going to continue with the wedding tips, because there some great things to share still. The next step was designing the centerpieces and table décor. In order to do that, I had
  • to think about the wedding theme,
  • to add  the meaning and message of the wedding, and
  • to not forget the budget.
The wedding was during the winter and I wanted to captivate this beautiful time of the year. I knew I wanted branches, and my husband (fiancé at the time) did not like the idea very much because they looked dead. To change his idea, we put flowers on the bottom, bringing life to the centerpiece. It sounded great, but we were still missing the charm and elegance of winter.
So the sparkle idea came when I went to São Paulo (my hometown) and my mom found this great mirrored ribbon. She thought of mirrored pendants to be put on the branches.Voila! We were able to make the pendants ourselves by using hot glue in between and a clear nylon thread, leaving two ends at the top, so that we could tie it on the branches. Simple and inexpensive. I took the pendants to the flower shop and they just added to the centerpieces.
The other centerpieces were tall cylinder vases with green plants inside being the accent color, a floating candle (to keep the winter charm) and a navy blue ribbon at the top. It gave variety to the tables and it made the branches center pieces stand out more.
I hope you enjoy these ideas! If you have any questions, let me know! Thank you for stopping by!

The Big First Impression

When you are looking for a job and you have an interview the first impression is everything! This is also true when your planning your event. By the invitation, your guests will understand what your event is all about and what they can expect. My colors were navy blue and lime green. My mom and I met with a lady in Brazil and we  came up with a beautiful design together. Clean lines, a touch of sparkle by our initials, white organza ribbon, mini paper clips, tags for the guests names (making it very personal), and a beautiful touch of navy blue made this invitation a great first impression for the wedding. Check the pictures below and let me know what you think!

Wedding Dream!

For the past 8 months I have been working on a project : my wedding! I was amazed of how many principles of design I was able to use! The best part is to see the final result and enjoy every part of it. I graduated in Interior Design from LDS Business College the day before my wedding, so this project closed my graduation with a golden key. Starting tomorrow I will bring to you every detail of this project! If you have a wedding coming up, let me know and we can plan the wedding of your dreams!
